well, i bought 5 cardinals once ago , 1 died until now but as for neons, i hv already bought the 2nd batch of 20 of them .. hehe .. and the neons are getting fewer and fewer ... lol

not quite, i did bought some at 3/4" they grew to about 1.5" in a few months.. maybe their growth was stunted.
dunno about singapore but here, the LFS said theyre from china.. and the most of the neons looks deformed. I read somewhere that theyre overdosed with antibiotics to increase the survival rate of the neons when theyre traveling from farm to lfs. which causes long term damage to their health.
