For me, i dun like swallow or ribbon, so i dun have much experience with then
... anyway, if you think these ribbon male not hurting your other fishes, then no need to separate them loh...
For the pregnant female, better get yourself a breeding net, you can also DIY one for yourself with those plastic basket...
it is difficult to tell when is the female going to spawn... the cycle for female to spawn is around 3 weeks once... keep record, then you will know when to separate the female from male...
