I've found bettas survive fine in a vase as long as frequent partial water changes are made, and the room temperature is maintained. my bettas thrive with blood worms, but all excess must be removed... a heater is also appreciated to maintain current temperature, ensuring a happy betta! good luck with these funky little fishies!
