Hi All
I just setup my new marine tank yesterday and am a complete newbie on raising salt water fish. This is what I currently have (sorry as I'm not too sure on the correct jargon)
1. Fish Tank - 2' x 1' x 1' (more or less)
2. Sand Bed
3. Live Rock (1 large and 2 smaller, formed an arch with it - covers most of the middle of the aquarium already)
4. 2kg Salt (Red Sea)
5. Lamp
6. Filter (Sits on top of the aquarium type and using 3 layers of sponge)
7. Bacteria (quarter cap)
8. NO2 Test Kit (not used yet)
9. Hydrometer
As of this morning, the water is quite clear already and the hydrometer reads that my salt level is in the green.
Was just wondering:
1. With this setup how long do I need to cycle the water before adding in some fish? Which type of fish is good for starters?
2. Am I missing anything else that is needed?
3. With this setup can I also start adding corals?
4. If so, should I add corals or fish first?
Thank You
