albinism is a recessive trait in which the whole person/animal lacks pigment.
The red 'eyes' every layman is talking about is the retina that lacks the black pigment in albinos which actually should be pinkish. this term red eyes should not be used. use rabbit eyes if you must because red eyes means the iris are red. so stop it! for your ref of what is what-

my point is, when we using flash to take pictures, those people who look directly at camera has red 'eye' although they are not albinos.
the red you see is actually the retina which the colour of blood-red...
in fairer skin people this colour is lighter. in albinos even lighter.
so you must be wondering if albinos have no pigment how come the fish sold at lfs has colour...
well, in albino fish people can still colour feed the fish to stain it artificially...
however that said, a well known breeder in singapore, mr andrew soh has managed to breed albino swordtails with black and red pigment?!!!
so these half breeds still captivate brilliant people into rethinking the genetics of colouration...
hope this has cleared up some bs...
