They are not totally bottom feeders too u know...u saw the documentary about L.Tanganyika. Being a bottom feeder at that depth, i dun think there is much thing to eat...
The bichirs we see are downright lazy thats why they are down on the floor.

Well there are sand dwelling cichlids but people dun call them bottom feeders. Technically this thread is for those fish that stay at the bottom most of the time. Like catfishes and loaches that stay most of the time at the lower level. they feed there and live there MOST OF THE TIME.
