Hmmm...... I've often seen nice plants at 'Irene Aquariums', Paramount Gardens. I've seen some carpet type plant growing on rocks with little netting on them. Don't remember if it was java moss or Riccia. In either case, Java moss will just become one big mass of moss if you let it grow... won't stay a lawn. Riccia... well, I've got a feeling it will float up once it breaks out of the netting.

Currently I have a planted tank and for foreground plants I'm using dwarf chain swords. Also running a DIY CO2 injection system. Plants look fantastic.... wish I could post some pictures here.
