Kiat,
If Japanese Ranchu breed in Malaysia, it'll only cost you Rm2-10 maximum each.... Ranchu needs winter to complete a perfect breeding process (Hibenation is a must). Therefore, Ranchu is not suitable to breed in tropical country like us. Currently, all my Japanese Ranchu is fully bred in Japan. If you wanna get pure breed Japanese Ranchu, May-June is a good time. We have one batch (more or less 1000s) coming in soon, from Japan, it is for my Ipoh group's own skill development (under Japanese breeder's close supervision) and promotion on this hobby..... possible we might be giving out some for free (under certain terms and conditions)... Many details on our planning are not certain yet cos need to consult our teacher before final decision.
If you wanna buy some Japanese Ranchu, don't pay so much for it... it is always overpriced in our market because it is rare. Even if we wanna let go our fish, it'll be according to the Japanese valuation but minus the air freight charges. If you are interested to find out the japanese market price, visit
www.ranchu.net for reference. (By the way, that's our teacher's website)
