It is made of fibreglass, 2 layer bonded with resin. non-toxic.

Need to lay it on block of wood or some form of support. the outlet pipe can lead to anywhere you like (to drain normally). Just chop a 2" PVC pipe and stuff it in that "hole". The length of the PVC pipe can control the water level. During water change, just pull off the PVC pipe and all water will be drained.

We copied this from some Japanese design. They are selling it way way beyond our "affordable" price range, so we approach some fibreglass factory and ask them to develop a mould for it. Furthermore, Japanese ones normal material is either PU or PE so it will get brittle after some time under the sun, so we choose fibreglass; it can last longer and stronger.

Actually, this is not solely for ranchu, any other goldfish also can but shallow water might not be ideal for Ryukin.
