Default Got some Festivum at AI

Finally i made my first trip to AI.... infact my FS friend had to drag me out of bed at 8am...or else i would have said a big NO...next time la.

while my FS friend browse thru the marine section, i ran thru the fresh water section keeping a sharp eye for anything interesting, not much to shout about apart from that most cichlids are invested with white spots, cant see them cleary until u do a really close inspection...or until u see them after u have taken the fish home.

African cichlid section...more choice here and the price is ok...boleh pakai, especially the big adults. but for the more exotic adult africans the price is a bit steep, plus poor selection choice. never was an african fan ...guess i never will be. but im a big fan of Kribs...got a brace of males and 10 females

Central american cichlids...non existant..unless u are interested in kerapu lombong and firemouths. a couple of JD, and the ever present convicts. ZIP sized convicts at rm10...why should i pay rm10 for a "punch in" fish???
finally it caught my eye..some juv synspilus..ok bro i take 2

South american cichlids....the thing that caught my eyes are the big uarus. at rm60 is a good price considering the fact that these are slow growers. Adult Geophagus at rm9..wow what a steal...infact i already got the net wet for a couple when i notice white spots. no thanks bro!
next was the big Festivum...kalui size, if u are a real SA cichlid fan at rm16 its a good buy...there are one or two thats begining to show breeding patent...but they are too big for me. i was more interested with the 2 inch juv festivum...i took 12 at rm2.50each.while scooping the festivum, i was hoping to find the odd Insignis...but no such luck
big blue acara...looks like they just had a few rounds with mike tyson...guess nobody told the Bangala boys its a NO NO to mix adult jewel with any other fishes...skip that bro!
ah..Appolo... plenty of green severums...im sure i would be back later for some after they clear off the white spots.

Dwarfs....names and price were not label on tanks but i counted 7 species here and at rm6 each...ah can play la...but then i notice there are no females...wat la..the jaga told me ...BOS TARA KASI JUAL LA...sure bos u dont want us to breed them ...so we dont buy from u lor, lu sendiri simpan la!
no point wasting my time and effort on a pack of males...there would be nothing to show for in the end. the thrill of keeping dwarts is to see them do their courtship dance infront of the females... where they display their true colour. without the females , guess there aint gonna be any party huh?

Discus...hahaha..a truly laughing stock! wonder who would buy sick discus.
but the back portion breeding section, theres quite a big colection of breeding pairs..

Catfishes.....Boleh Tahan...infact im already planning on an all catfish setup soon after seeing what they got there....and cheap too. too bad the corydoras selection is limited to a single colour induce species..at rm10..better use the money to makan. a 12 inch tiger shovelnose at rm240....wow, whats the year now ...is it 2006 or 1986?? better get the rm10 speciement...coz it only take a couple of months for the tiger to grow to a foot.

Export Section....very impressive on quality wise...but why arent such fishes offered for sales to odinary malaysian aquarist? is it we cant afford the price they are asking for ...or we dont deserve to keep better quality fishes? or is it we are not entitle to produce quality spawns.
thats the question that bugs me all the way home.
