Heheh... I think you meant surface breather, right gooner? Livebearer is completly different.....

Ya, anyway, i use the same setup too, but without the air pump. And do try to cover the tank partially. This is to reduce air movement of the water surface.

Give the pair time to get to "know" each other first.... Can't expect them to rush into things right? Anyway, read up this site if possible:

Especially about identifying when the pair (most importantly the female) are ready to breed... There are some signs....

Right, now to brood feed.... For first feed (day 1-4 after hatching), I feed green water, which contain paramecia. I dont like to use egg yolk as it pollutes the water too fast, and can dramatically decrease the pH level (deadly to fries). If at all possible, feed daphnia (water fleas) after the first week. If not, feed baby brine shrimps. This is easier to get, and easier to prepare. Other feed are vinegar eels and microworms.
