i would really love to get some real Co2 equipments...but then they are rather expensive here, further more this a cichlid setup in mind and most of the plants here have low Co2 requirements...and the next best thing to use is the cheap cheap DIY Co2. it will be even cheaper if u use the normal bread yeast add in some sugar ,bicarbonate...and u are in business. No need to spend RM50, 60 on the DIY Co2 at the FS, just any plastic bottle will do.all for less RM5.

got this 6 blade mini fan at one of the kaki 5 lelong in Pudu Pasar. the instruction says it could lower the temp 2 to 4'C...well, u will be a fool to believe that. with the amount of heat produced from the 4 lights i use....i would be more than happy if the fan could maintain the temp at the normal 28'C

i place the lighting blast outside and away from the tank....dont need the extra heat. the lighting is controlled by two timers... two tubes to each timer. one is the odinary rm15 made in china timer, the other one is a taiwan made digital.
the fomer timer runs one 2900K, Lux90 and one 18000K Lux100 tubes from 10am to 10pm
the later timer runs two 6900K Lux135 tubes from 12noon to 6pm.

in this setting the tank will get an easy light at 10am , sort of morning sunrise, at noon a full blast of 4 tubes in action ...its high noon.
later i will get another timer to let only the 18000K tube running after 6pm.

murky waters ....due to clays. it will clear in a day or two. a week before the kribs are introduce. sort of letting the plants a chance to root. sort out those that grew and those that didnt
