In fish is different lar..... Amphilophus one species, Vieja one species.... u are rite if chromosomes not ngam sure cannot breed like for instance Vieja and Mbuna. If Cichlid was the species then..... all will interbreed. Thus, in validation Cichlid is likely the genus and the various categories is the Species. Haiya..... damn confusing wan lar.... unless we study taxonomy then we will understand lar... but who really gives a damn. I just want mine to remain a valid species that's all. Actually I am not so picky that the geographical variants all must correspond.. leave it as it is lar.
