Hi John,

Not to be rude or anything, why don't you start your own thread on root feeder topic. Since this thread about commercial liquid micro nutrients, it is seems inappropriate to discuss it in here.

Anyway, to quickly answer your question, yes, root feeder is good if you have heavy rooted plants like Crypts, Swordplants, Nymphea Lotus etc (rosette plants). But for stem plants like Rotala, Ludwigia etc, in my opinion, is not suitable, because you don't want this stem plants to heavily rooted, since you will most probably uproot them quite often, after a few trimming, just to remove those ugly bottom parts with thin roots hanging everywhere. It is better through water column fertilization. Most stem plants don't heavily rooted anyway compared to crypts, swords etc.

There are two brand of root feeder with corn shaped appearance, I know of. One is Ista and the other is Ocean Free Root Monster. There are also root feeder in a tablet form such as Sera Florenette, ADA Iron Bottom etc. Well with this, you better not use it for stem plants, since when you uprooted, the root tab will also came out, clouding your water etc. Just my few cents.

Best Regards
