They are both powerful oxidising agents than burns bacteria and other small organisms.
It does not cure fish of any disease. It is used to kill small pathogens in the right doses.
Reducing the amount of pathogens allow the fish immune system to cope and heal itself.
These chemicals are not to be used for long bath if the fish has open wounds.
For PP, you can't really measure how much to use as it is so concentrated, mix liquid till it's a light purple solution for long baths. Mid colour for short baths.
Open wounds you can use a cotton bud and swab the wound with a slightly more concentrated solution.
Never put the crystals directly into tank. Always use a small toothpick/cotton bud to swab some crystals and mix in small container/bottle then dose to reach desired colour concentration.
