In my experience, to grow nice and lush moss, temperature is the most important thing. Clean water too. I have been using all kind of fertilizer for growing moss (java moss, chritmas moss, weeping moss..), from Hagen, JBL to ADA, all is fine as long as temperature is around 26ºC or lower.
