2 days ago saw two already hatched fry near the spawning site... so the rest of the eggs must be hatching soon I guessed. Surprisingly the moment I removed the eggs from the community tank and put it in the hatching tray, almost all of them popped out like popcorn. Hatching could've been triggered by the time the eggs spent out of the water. At the end of that day, left 8 eggs unhatched which all hatched the following day. Counted 53 fry in this spawn. Think it's gonna be a hard time raising them... espescially first two weeks. I tried making green water by using a abrasive pad to scrape the green diatoms off the mucky tank sides and diluting it into the rearing tray. It does have the effect of green water... the water turns green and murky. The sediment from it settles after a day onto the tray surfaces.. so hopefully the fry will feed on this. Also scattering crushed spirulina tabs everywhere. I made an experimental mix of microwaved duckweed which I froze :P. Duckweed apparently has a high protein content, possible for
Sturisoma Panamese to start eating this? Will give it a go and post updates
