Update on these guys. Largest reached 2cm. Man they grow quick. Still not one died yet. There's one or two runts that're still 1cm. Raising this fellas can be a challenge... not like most fish fry that swarms to food... these guys just lie there.. I have to feed lots and much of the food goes uneaten. Water changes daily from main tank.

Second batch of eggs expected to hatch by tonight. Already turned very dark today. I think they might just pop out while i'm at work. Hope my fish don't gobble too many up. Hard to remove due to it being laid directly on glass. Hoping to stimulate them to hatch in a net for me to transfer to rearing tank. This is going to be a challenge.. to do this without any fry swimming out the sides and being pecked at by fish. Hope the male sturisoma will be able to defend some as well. He's doing a great job! He's been guarding eggs two weeks in a row while hardly feeding... poor fella. I annoyed the hell out of him inspecting the eggs the other day. Touched the eggs.. felt solid and compact. It's quite interesting how they lay the eggs in formation shaped to the male's body so that when he lies on the eggs, he completely covers them. When they laid eggs on the intake tube.. the egg formation was along the tube length, which makes it look like an oval shape. On the glass, it's a circle shape. How did they get so smart?
