Kay, what kind of filter are you using? What is the flow rate? How long is your photoperiod? Hair algae grow due to CO2 and lighting imbalance + strong flow. Reduce the photoperiod to max of 8 hours. If your current photoperiod is 8 hours, then reduce it to 6 hours. Slow down the flow a bit.

Check your PH, KH and temperature. If the yamato died in an hour, mean your tank water not yet stable. Is this your new tank?

You gonna remove this algae manually by using your fingers or using the tooth brush. Only young yamato and SAE will eat.

Siamese algae eater is not the orange color. The orange color is the chinese algae eater. Make a search in this forum about the different of chinese algae eater(CAE), siamese algae eater (SAE) and flying fox. Flying fox look almost the same like SAE.
