I've at least 5 batches of fries now. The best survival rate was for the first batch, more than 25 of them growing out. Actually all of the first batch survived the first crucial 2 weeks, but for some unknown reason(possibly chemical poisoning from some source) caused all of them in the same tank to die. It's a lucky thing I decided to grow some on in other tanks before this happened or I would've lost all of my most successful batch of fry. The second batch, around 7 survivors and the third batch all died in the first week due to it being raised in the same tank as the first batch that died of chemical poisoning. Fourth batch never had a chance, eaten up by barbs and cichlids in the tank. Hatched while I was sleeping. Now raising the 5th with the exact same method and container as the one I used raising the first. We'll see if the container had anything to do with it. It could be it's rough surface allows more surface area and grazing area for algae which is the baby's crucial diet for the first week. If a fry happen to have a slim tummy at any point, that signals inevitable death! They must ALWAYS be fat, even juveniles.

The fry from the first batch are now 6 cm long juveniles. The 5th batch is only a day old, I caught them out yesterday night.
