So in a heavily planted tank you should have extra aeration at night.
Its a common cause of death in ponds with green water, at night the algae is taking all the oxygen and the fish just suffocate.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was trying to remember earlier. I shouldn't have a problem if I just get a couple of plants because I've just received my new air pump. It pumps up to 300 litres of air per hour, which is miles better than my old one that just pumps 54 LPH. The only problem is I forgot to order some new hose with it so at the moment I can only use one airstone.
Have you ever had any problems with the fish eating the plants? I've got plastic plants at the moment and my fish keep trying to eat those.
I'm redecorating my tank at the moment and ordered a piece of Mopani wood yesterday. It works the same as driftwood but doesn't decay like it. It's meant to be pretty beneficial to the fish and the tank water and looks good too.
