Yes, feeding these turtles can be a real problem when they are small. I have 3, one 4" (shell) and another 2 (2.5") ones. They are very lazy to swim to the top for food. I had to feed them pellets that sank to the bottom. Now I am seriously considering giving them worms or chopped cockles, in order to provide a good source of protein.
