Default My new Candycane Goby is not happy

Hey there, I just took over a 30 gallon freshwater tank about 5 weeks ago, so I'm kind of new at the fish dynamics and tank chemistry. My tank is doing good (nitrites a little high but I'm using NitraZorb) except for my Candycane Goby. He won't eat and just swims around up and down the glass. I've tried feeding him brine shrimp, flakes, granules. The other fish are not agressive. He had a friend but he died very recently of Pop Eye (I think) even after medication. I can't find any information on gobies, much less Candycanes, and the pet stores give me advice, but to no avail. Could he be lonely? Need a bottom of sand instead of gravel? Is it a brackish fish? I have him in fresh water (like the pet store did). Should I try bloodworms? What should I do, he's withering away! Thanks for any advice.
Holly
