I just recently got into fishkeeping and have experimented for awhile with my 10 gallon tank. I'm now purchasing a 55gallon tank that I intend to fill with cichlids. Right now I have two very young Melanochromis Johannis that will be going in there with some other cichlids I'll be recieving for free.
-WHAT I NEED TO KNOW:::::
-What (if it matters exactly) type of gravel is recommended?
-What temperature should I keep the tank at?
-Should I bother changing my pH levels?(I've been told no, because the place I get the fish from doesn't)
-Will my royal pleco be ok in there?
And anything else you can tell me since I know practically nothing.

Thanks everyone.
