Default fat fishy

I have several medium sized, healthy angels in a large aquarium. Recently I added a cute dime-sized angel that I couldn't resist and she is fitting in very well with her larger tankmates. The larger angels are voracious eaters, and I feed them 3 times a day, as much as they can eat in 2 or 3 minutes. Lately I have noticed that she is eating way too much in every feeding. Afterwards her stomach is very bloated. I thought at first that it was dropsy, but noticed that the bloat goes away whenever she poops. Is this harmful to her?

...as long as the 'paunch' disappears after a poop...

2-3 times a day is fine as long as your filter can cope.

Default thanks

Thank you for your reply. It just looked so uncomfortable! I guess she acts normal though.

Talking

angels are greedy fellas when the see their favourite food... so it's up to you to limit them.
it's not healthy to overfeed youngsters...small meals but 4-5 times a day is a good routine for juveniles. 2 times a day is enough for adults...
they beg beg beg beg... but don't give in!...

you can tease them with a teeny bit...hungry fish are healthy fish.

Haha u trying to pump your angelfish so that they grow faster??!!

If you feed like that make sure there's a daily regular feeding time or else almost can guarantee dropsy. When they are accustommed to the feeding time, their metabolism will automatically starts. Just like us when we don't eat at regular hours we get gastric (just for comparison not meaning the fish will get gastric).

Yeah angelfish can be cute little angles begging.......all the time. Refrain from the temptation to overfeed them.
