Being doing customer service a bit, I really dislike customers that criticize our goods/service just to reduce the price.
Like in the market buying vegetable. Buyer: "What is the price" Seller: "5.00 ringgit" Buyer: "What... your vege, spoil one, not fresh one, how come so expensive... 4.00 ringgit lar" Seller: "I am going to be as nice and polite as possible..... Go fly kite...... please...." Last edited by cjloong : 27-01-2006 at 11:04 AM. |

Haha nice 1 CJ.
Used to sell PC Hardware/assemble PC for people. Same thing happens. Me: Boss the price I quote is without OS (Operating System) if you want free OS I install linux for you. Windows XP Home will cost RM3xx. Client: Walauea Windows so expensive meh?? No other alternative ah? Me: Linux lor. Client: But I want Windows. Help lar I know you can. Me: I can try to get 2nd hand COA(Certificate of Authenticity) for you but it's not cheap also might as well get new 1. Client: 2nd hand dowan lar. Those pasar malam 1 kenot meh. Me: Let me stress again I cannot support piracy. If get caught masuk jail tutup biz. If you wan I will not stop u but not in my premise. So I told him to get his own copy (by hook or crook watever) and I'll install for him at his place. But thats not the end of story. After 1 week or 2. Client: WTF lar. Always hang bla bla bla. Me: I already told you that I'm only selling you the hardware so anything happens to the software part you have to contact the their tech support. I've checked the hardware everything works fine. If you're not satisfied I'll replace the "suspected" hardware. If the software got problem then so sorry. Client: ***Curse like mad lah*** The morale of the story is buy ori. If anything wrong still can screw the tech support people loh since their product suck mah. Buy pirate tanggung sendiri lor....(I feel so sorry for cust support ppl, always get screwed because of their co.s product not up to standard and sometimes because of the consumers ignorance) PS. I'm not selling any IT related stuff long time already. Just did it to support my tertiary education. |

Guess this is human nature. I've been in sales and marketing for 4 years and during my S & M (err... that's not what I mean) boot camp they call this behaviour fishing (pardon the pun). For instance, picture yourself buying a handphone. You go to the store, the sales guy attends to your questions and even shows you the phones. When asked which phone you want, the standard answer would be, I'll think about it first, or I'll walk one round and come back later. Which will never happen. And this is repeated at 2 other shops. Motive? Not only to find the best price, but best discounts, best packages, best everything. But guys, this is not an Asian thing (nothing to do with Kiasu culture). This example was cited by a Mat Salleh from US!
Aren't humans interesting specimens?

Guys.... like I mentioned before... this is not targetted at anyone specific. Everyone has the right to ask before parting with their money. I put the FAQ's here for a reason...... to answer you guys before the questions become a little too repetetive for me to answer them.
A tad bit of advice to all beginners..... read read and read..... there's abundance info on the net.. and mags will help a lot. When I started with Central Americans right smack in the middle of the Luo Han era, there was nothing whatsoever that is available locally.... I learnt a whole lot from the NET and importing and experimenting myself. Now that I see a whole lot of aquarists have matured over the years... its really good to know. So we all learn... but it would really be good if u do a search first before asking the same questions over and over. And please please please go learn the basics of "cycling a tank" first before starting. I'd like to quote Dom as a real example....... (Dom, this is not in anyway degrading you).... Dom was a real novice before, he used to ask the funniest questions, we laughed at him... but he continued learning.. He experimented a lot with lotsa species... and decided that he was really keen on plants and biotopes and aquascaping.... and he has matured tremendously over the years.. I even ask him questions about plants nowadays... Guys and gals...... its really the effort..... spoonfeeding won't get u too far.
