Hi,

Anybody using PMDD method for fertilization? I've been trying to get individual fertilizer elements myself but to no avail. Looks like those plant nurseries in KL do not sell them separately. Anybody knows where to get them or try it yourself?

It can last about 2 weeks but the the solution will become weaker after a week. Top up with more yeast after a week. I use 2 bottles of 2 litres and I change them on alternate week. It means each bottle lasts for 2 weeks with yeast added after a week.

It also depends on how much sugar and yeast you use as well as the volume of the solution used.

thanks for the info

i've been changing the solution on a weekly basis..for what i gather, the changing of the solution varies..some change on alternate days..some on a monthly basis and etc...

currently my 2 feet tank is running on a 1.5l DIY CO2 injection system...beside the normal yeast and sugar, i add sodium bicarbonate..

you mentioned top up..i tot the only way to activate yeast is by using warm water??..

I used to change the DIY CO2 once every 3-4 weeks....
Changing on a weekly basis is a little to hassle...

Try adding less yeast ....

Add more yeast after 2-3 weeks to make the solution last longer...
this is b'cos some of the yeast could have died in the solution...

How do you mix the CO2 into the water ??

Diffuser or reactor way ??

Nope... just pop the yeast into the bottle and shake it abit ... extra co2 generated immediately ...

The yeast will not function well after a certain level of alcohol is reached in the bottle... they kill themselves...

for me...i found the solution after 2 weeks is not so good anymore... the plants in my tank pearls excessively right after a change os co2 weekly ... 3 -4 weeks usage is ok if you are ok with no pearling ... the plants still grow

I use DIY reactor ... diffuser is not good enough in my opinion ....
