Frankie,

If you can't wait for my riccia to grow back, you can get it from Mid Valley's Pets Wonderland. Only 3 bags left yesterday. One bag cost RM12. The carpet is about the size of the hand palm.

Hai Joo,

Did they at last decided to sell them? The last time I went there they told me it is for display only. Looks like I have to go there again now. Last weekend I went to 88 at Pandan Indah and they also told me its not for sale. I somehow spend RM130 there. Sigh!!

Thanks for the info Joo.

Frankie

Frankie,

It depends wan. Those on display they will not sell it but if they have new stock they will sell it. I was suprised mid valley there they selling it cos the riccia dies off very fast and they don't normally sell any high class plants except those plants on wood.

Let me know if you manage to get any from there or not.

rgds,
Joo

Hai Joo,

At last I got them

When I ask the girl there she told me its RM12 per pack. I choses 2 nice pack and pay at the counter. Since there is no price tag, the cashier ask me how much is it. I told her its RM12 per pack. She gave me this funny look and ask the first girl if it is 2 pack or 1 pack for RM12. The first girl said 2 packs for RM12!

I tried right? So... I got 2 pack for RM12!!!!!

Should have gotten more no? It is too much to go into my tank so I am putting it in another tank under a fine net to cultivate it.

Anyway, thanks again Joo IOU one!

Frankie

Wow! Frankie, you got it made lah man. Must be laughing your way out lah.... 50% discount!!! Yeah you should get a few more bags since so cheap haha. Then resell it back to others right outside the shop. I wish they will make the same mistake to me when I buy from them.

Did you use any CO2 setup in your tank? The riccia will pearl like mad with additional CO2 and grow like weeds.

Hai Joo,

Yes I have a DIY CO2 and a reactor running on the other tank. Its a small tank with riccia and java moss and I think I need to check the water's CO2 and ph from time to time.

BTW, hows your setup like?

Frankie

Hi Frankie,

My 4ft tank has 140 watts of light, with CO2 and a AC fan to cool down the temp. Although the watts/gallon is not very high but good enough for me to grow all sort of plants. I rely on the plant for biological filtration in my tank. Another 3ft tank has 60 watts of light and the same CO2 and AC fan setup. This is a paludarium for my amphibians, only half of the tank is filled with water and were heavily planted with low light plants and the woods above water are planted with java moss, x'mas moss and riccia. The mosses grow better emersed with constant stream of water going over them.

That's the setup of 2 of my main display tanks. The list can go on with the other tanks that I have. How big is your tank?

Joo
