Stan, 1bps for a 4ft tank enough ah? I reduce my PH SOLELY with C02. With my 2.5ft tank I'm running at about 2.5bps with my KH4.

Tuckz, like overdrive said, you have a HOB filter which creates surface agitation and gasses off your C02. If you're not willing to change your filter (canisters are expensive) try increasing your water level as close as possible to the return of your HOB.

the water level is very high, higher den the return area
canisters are too costly
internals take up too much space coz its a small aquarium
but i was using an hang on filter too with my DIY CO2
and det time, the riccias bubble too
maybe i should try to off the filter for a day
will it be okay?

1 bps also got extra when the lights goes off.... it takes a few more hours before all the CO2 is completely gone...

no point allowing more bps as they will just form small small bubbles and escape into the tank instead..

perhaps I might try to reduce the air stone / atomizer..

Today i check my tanks... seems to be more bubbles around some of the leaves...

Just curious, is yr co2 reactor filled with a lot of co2 gasses or just a little...

Mine in the middle of the day is around 2" of gasses at the top of the reactor...

Were the co2 well mixed or is there a lot of tiny bubbles blown out of the canister ??

Perhaps there is some clue you forgot to mention to us or perhaps you could try to increase the bps higher... ** be careful and watch out for fishes gasping for air at the top of the aquarium **

Basically target these pH levels for the optimum CO2 content (30-35mg/l) in water:

Kh=2 ----- pH should be 6.3
Kh=3 ----- pH should be 6.5
Kh=4 ----- pH should be 6.6
Kh=5 ----- pH should be 6.7
Kh=6 ----- pH should be 6.8

Make sure your pH drop is only due to the addition of CO2, which means no using of peat or any pH down (this product is a con-job if you ask me - just use CO2 just like nature). If you're not getting these pH values for your specific water Kh, you don't have enough CO2 in the water, so increase more bps till you achieve these pH values. Hope tis helps

Mine is about the same. There's always some amount of C02 in the reactor but no bubbles escape. I get 100% diffusion. I'm using that green colour reactor but I glued it together and I'm using inline instead of inside the tank. Click here is you want to read about it.

Hehe, no lah I don't have fish gasping for air. I have a PH of 6.4 with around 40ppm of C02.

Perhaps your water flow is too slow and not dissolving the C02 fast enough? Overdrive is right, you should ONLY reduce your PH with addition of C02.

Well everybody, the problem is solved
its really the EHEIM Liberty, actually hang on filters
im not using any filter right now, and the riccias are bubbling
actually, all my plants are bubbling, amazingly
im so happy coz i can feel the result of having a pressurised CO2 system
thank you everybody for the help
since my aquarium is so small, im running around 1bps-2bps
i just bought an EHEIM internal filter (Aquaball 220
anybody have feedbacks on it?

Honestly, I am using hang on filter n my riccia bubbling like crazy. Try to get the water level touching on the out flow. You can reduce the water coming out from the filter n hitting directly on the water level. And CO2 won't be lost so easily.

Enough CO2, lighting n clean water will make the magic happen.

glad to hear that...

You sure is a BIG fan of eheim filters.... so when are you getting your big and powerful eheim canister filters ??

From the pic you, you have the UP 3 bioballs filter rather than the Dymax filter...

Did you also change yr CO2 reactor too ??
