Default Riccia not Bubbling/Pearling

i jujst set up a pressurised CO2 system
using a DYMAX reactor
my riccia is not bubbling
is it because there is not enough CO2 dissolved in the water?
last time when i use DIY CO2, my riccia also will release oxygen(bubbling)

Riccia not pearling can be due to lot of reason.

First, not enough lighting.
2nd, not enough CO2.
3rd, water parameter incorrect. May be high PH or KH. Or you never change the water.

Yr PH is very high for a planted tank. Try to maintain between 6.4- 6.8

you are using CO2 cylinder with regulator right? how many bps of yr CO2? Any rocks inside yr tank? How's about your gravel??

Not all the gravel or rock are suitable for planted tank.

my plants are growing well
i think its my regulator
im using the AZOO gravel with ferts wan (selling for around 99 per pack)
i have 2 11w PL white lights
using EHEIM Liberty filter
dosing SERA Florena
plants and riccia growing, but not bubbling
i just bought an EHEIM compact 300L/H pump for the regulator
should i change and use the 600L/H pump?
using the DYMAX with seperating discs
no rocks in my tank
its 3 bps

to lower down the ph you can use....peat from brand like sera,fluval(hagen),JBL,Azoo,tetra and etc
but better to have a big bucket,produce the lower PH water there....only you put the water in your tank,coz some of this peat can drop the ph until 4.0-4.5ph
what i was thinking its your co2 diffuser,one of my fren have high lighting system with good filteration also, 2-3 bubbles per sec,for a 3 ft tank,he use those diffuser that make of glass,which is tranparent,the diffuser will make the co2 bubble into a finer bubbles and release out from the gas stone.

but problem is,the co2 is only going upward,but not touring around the tank,so he have changed to those greenish diffuser from Up brand,function by some bio ball spinning around in the cilinder,of coz you will need a powerhead to make the thing move.....so the flow will take the co2 travel around the tank....after few days....riccia and some plants start to bubbling.

hope this will help

He is using the dymax reactor... co2 coming up from bottom, water coming down from the top.... pretty efficient... unless the water current is too strong and slow some small bubbles into the water... much better than the UP reactor.

I'm having the same problem....water parameters and equipment also the same... CO2 cylinder with Dymax CO2 reactor.

KH 5, pH 7.5
1 bps , 4 ft tank, lighting , 36W x 4, turning on two.... did not want the plants to grow too fast...

these days... dunno why, the riccia just do not bubbles anymore... but they grew too fast.. I throw away most of them after no takers from the forumers...

I am not bothered by the riccia does not bubbling but just curious about how to reduce the pH without adding any articial chemicals...

The riccia used to bubbles like crazy and grow like crazy...

Perhaps I should lowered the KH back to 4 as last time my water parameters is like pH 7, KH 4 and this is just nice...

Its your Ehiem Liberty filter that is causing the problem because its a Hang-On-Back (HOB) type. HOB filters are totally not good for a planted tank, remove it and you will find that your CO2 will dissolve in the water better and your pH will drop because of the CO2 and not anything else. HOB filters will dissipate CO2 to the surroundings cuz they have a waterfall style of water return to the tank. Less surface aggitation = more CO2 in the water = better plant growth. Change your filter to an internal filter or a canister filter and your plants will grow much better
