I have to find out the plants characteristic and their needs of lighting and CO2 normally. Then pump the co2 with what they needs. Not exceed. Not lack of it.

Beside that, I will check the PH level after 24 hours. And check once before photoperiod and when photoperiod. KH n GH...nope i seldom check. Only check when i introduce any new plant in.

Once I am able to get and maintain the PH level i wanted to. I will not touch anything inside the tank. Unless changing water. Beside using manual regulator, My 6ft running with solenoid which able to maintain the PH n KH very well.

Try to use Photosynthetic Bacteria. It will help to solve all yr unneccessary problems.

What dom means is that most of the hobbyist only test for pH and kH and according to this CO2 table, you will be able to tell the CO2 content inside the tank by knowing about PH and KH..

You can key in yr pH and kH into this website to get the CO2 content in the tank.

http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/art_plant_co2chart.htm

I also find that KH value usually stays the same even after 30% weekly water change.

There are PH liquid tester and PH pen. For long term, try to get PH pen. Easier and u can use unlimited time. Price is around RM130-180. PH liquid tester is around RM10-15. KH also the same. I saw Nutrafin selling the KH/GH tester for RM20+. Worth to get....
