hmm,

NA is Nature Aquatic world in SS 19 Subang Jaya(near Lick hung chinese primary school).

Obviously there is always work 2 be done when u r to start a planted tank. u need 2 trim the plants especially if u grow a lot of stem or fast growing plants. secondly, u need 2 change the water weekly to prevent algae growth.
U also need 2 dose in ferilisers daily 2 help yr plant grow healthy and green. Therefore u also need 2 check 4 sins of algae growing on the leaves on the plants and trim them of. U also need 2 trim dead or withered leaves 2 make yr aquarium looking good. Finally, i would like 2 advise u not 2 start a planted tank if u don't hav enough time 2 mantain yr tank. Or else u'de b wasting yr $$ 4 ntng.

Shaun

If you know where is sunway pyramid and you are at the highway....(the sunway pyramid is on yr left)...go up the fly over from the highway.... and you will come down the fly over and reach a round about...

take 12 o'clock...go straight and you will reach a t junction which under construction. Make the left turn before the traffic light. After left turn.. take to the right hand side lane. You will see another 2 traffic lights in front of you. Turn right after the 2nd traffic light.

After right turn, you will see the NAW on yr right....

Btw, there is no super low maintanance and fuss free tank in planted tank world. You need to change water, feeding, trimming...etc.

I beg to differ!!! I have a tank that needs only water top up, nothing else. Havent change water for more than 1 year, didnt do any trimming and such as well, just scrap glass to rid of algae every 3-4 months or so. Of course most are nanas only...............................LOL!!!!!

KG

BTW, no fishes, only shrimps and no algae prob at all!!!!!!!!!

Hi KG, I don't think this gonna apply for the newbie right? You are experience guy and of coz the water parameter is under yr control. And I don't think a newbie able to do that... If yes, they gonna went thru lot of failures and errors. What i said is apply to a newbie who just going to start the planted tank.

I have the shrimp tank as well. Beside feeding the shrimp n top up water. I nvr trim the plants or scrap the algae on glass. coz the tank with mosses and nana petite only. There is no algae on mosses n nana. But the algae on glass...leave for shrimp to clean it.

but then...this is not consider as fuss free tank right? Since we still need to top up water, srap algae and feeding... but low maintenance lar.

For all the advise on how to create a low mainenance non CO2 tank, go to this website: http://aquabotanicwetthumb.infopop.cc/eve/ubb.x and then click El Natural. Its Diana Walstad's forum and you can find all the info you need there. Basically you need do this:

1. Get a good base fertiliser, then top up with substrate (eg. Holland sand).
2. You must have sufficient light, not too much though, which normally means 2 to 3 light tubes above your tank. On them for about 9-10 hours a day.
3. Plant heavily with all sorts of plants. This is very important for the start to absorb all the ammonia. Have some floating plants also (very important).
4. Have an internal filter or a canister filter, not too powerful, and don't clean the filter at all until it clogs. (Also very important).
5. NO water change at all but top up evaporated water whenever needed with dechlrorinated water. Water change only once in 8 months to a year only to prevent salinity build up.
6. No fertilisation needed. You can dose some potassium and some Calcium and Magnesium if your water is very soft. If possible make sure your GH>7.
7. Feed fishes once to twice a day. This will provide all the nutrients for the plants along with fish waste.
8. Just leave it alone and watch, trim plants when needed off course
9. Enjoy! ;D My fishes got lots of babies already in this kinda tank.
