Pix of ciliata or balansae? It's the normal balansae green with no red line in the center. hmm...baby downoi...sounds alrite for me as long as it's not too small.

Here's a nice link for the ciliata including its habitat

Dudes,

That is not called Lotus Shimada. It is called Nuphar Shimadai. It will grow 2 types of leaves at the same time. The pic shown is submersed leaves. And there is another type just look like Lotus which floating on the surface of water. Recommended to have a big tank to house it.

And there is no A.longiplomus. Should be Aponogeton boiviananus. Mine A.boi was grown to 3.5ft long before. Recommended to have a big tank to house it also.

hey bro,

quite sure it's not a boivinianus. boivinianus has deep green leaves and it's new leaves are not pink. i have both so i know the diff. this one has bright green soft leaves like crispus and is not stiff like the boivinianus.
i just checked tropica website. wrong spelling. its aponogeton longiplumulosus...
--------
and nuphar genus is commonly noted as lotus. might missed the shimadai or shimada. all lotus has two type of leaves. the floating ones and the submersed ones. i always cut the floating ones.

it doesn't grow very big from xp. had it for more than a year.
nuphar japonica grows very big. the diff between shimadai and japonica is that shimadai has this stem and roundish leaves. the japonica has 3-4 times thicker stem leading to triangle leaves. even japonica has sp, ssp, sp red etc. i know because i've kept more than ten lotus types.

Default Whoaaahh!!! Anyone speaks non-plant language here?

Anyone with healthy plants that could be used here in my 4 ft tank? Let me know whether 28-30 C is suitable.

Default Ceratophyllum Demersum @ Hornwort

Where can I get hornwort to help me rid blue-green algae? And fish like Ancistrus sp,Pecoltia sp., Otocinclus sp.Flying Fox (Epalzeorhynchus kallopterus), or the Siamese Flying Fox (E siamensis),Farlowella sp. or "twig" catfish;

Stan:

Here's the balansae pictures...there you go...Cryptocoryne Balansae "green" 2 feet in length(tank is 2.5feet height) and the one I'm giving up for exchange.

Also attached are my Marsilea Crenata picture...when grown under low light condition...it will morph to one leave like glosso.

I'm also sharing a picture of my local variety of bolbitis.. I like this variety more than the small and slender looking leaves type which I also have in the same tank.
