Em..
just tie them to rock or wood...
They will grow...
But they prefer lower temperature... like 25-27 degree C

I have no problem with riccia at the higher temperatures but mosses don't do so well... Better now since I've added a fan...

Yeap, like Ruslan said...Riccia grow very well with high light and CO2...temp is not really a big deal for them as long as not too hot.
Mini riccia, i'm not sure, mine is still growing very very slow...some even died off...

Moss...I tried the temp, cause newly setup that time got no fan(temp 29-31C), moss is like dying...or growing very very slowly...
Now added 2 fans(temp 25-29C) temp depending on weather as it's a outdoor tank, but shaded, so now i can see new leaf stick out within a few days time, fun to watch...hehehe

My tank normal reach 30celcius......
You know what I do.... if the temp go above that... I will put some icecube to cool them down....hehe....
My riccia is growing well and are pearling all the way now....
Mike and Ruslan and the rest are right:if light and CO2 are sufficient, riccia will pearl like no body business....
Will post some photo later.......

OMG!! OMG!!
While I was so happy last week when my riccia grow wild and pearl all the way, thing changed 360degree today.....
The growing wild portion of my riccia floated up this morning, and messed up my tank....
I have to re-tie them and the result is not as good as previous(maybe I am in hurry to work)..... Have to wait for 2-3weeks before I can get a good looking riccia tank again.
Hope sifu sifu here can teach me how shall I trim the riccia. The floated up portion was the most beautiful portion in my tank as they are thick and wild.... now, I lost them
Althought rest of my tank is growing too, but the riccia is not as thick as this one... really sad now

hi justtalk,

what your name btw? weird giving advice to a nickname.

position your riccia rocks close together, plant one or two stalks of hairgrass in between so that the riccia meets some resistance from 02 pearling buoyancy...
these are tips from takashi amano regarding riccia planting.
his can grow for a couple of months without floating before looking too bushy.
HTH

regards

stan
