Ya... my riccia can grow in my high temp tank, at 30-32c day time, 28-30c nite time.... However, my xmas moss die off due to that..... Other local species is doing ok..... glosso not doing so well, instead growing horrizontally, they grow kind of tall....maybe due to lighting.
I am not so keen to invest in a DC fan as my adge of my tank is full of stuffs:a hang-on filter and 2 clip on FL lights.... So, my edge at the bank is kind of fully occupied...
Will try to master the riccia first, before switch to other expert type....hopefully.

My tank run into mess few days back.....

The glosso seems being attacked by hair algae. I cut and removed most of the infected leaves but still it looks like the other also dying out....
Mother plants also seems in weak situation.... some of them started to rot from the root...

My riccia growth rate falls and only grow 1-2mm last week after the retie.... really sad about this....
Not sure if this is the 'aftermath' of my salt medication for the crown loach white spot problem. I changed water(50%) after all the white spot has gone, and then I found that the plants started to die off and growth rate decreased.... the fishes are ok but seems the cardinal tetra lose their redness.... Don't know why...

I am still planning to get a bigger tank, where I can put in more plants and also install the standard lighting case.... but still in early stage now..... no place to put a bigger tank la(in actual is where to put the current tank, hehe )...

Hope to see my riccia grow again. Give them 2 weeks time and see. Else, will get from you(FOC or RM5) and restart again....

Get rid of that background wallpaper! It'll look tonnes better. You're pretty good at tying stuff to rocks. You should try mini-riccia, looks very nice on rocks in smaller tanks.

Glossos.. hard in any setup not ADA-ed. Primarily substrate and lighting. My glossoes in my previous tank grew fine in holland sand but it didn't spread quite as fast even with co2. On ADA soil, it spread out much quicker even without co2. I think it's the porosity of the substrate that's helping them root. They need to be in good shape and growing or algae will take over. The moment they get stunted.... algae will come. Glosso is like a weed it shows it's healthy by growing.. trouble with non co2 with glosso, they need a lot of light but if you provide too much light, you'll get algae problems. Have to balance..

Time to pass up my overdue assignment....
I changed the background to blue and add in 2 new plants... hope they will last.

Overall look with blue background [you can see the DIY CO2 vortex blowing out from my internal powerhead filter...]
