Giant valis....they grow damn fast ...I have plenty... see lah next time when I trim, I'll inform you. Last night just throw out a bunch of runners which is the best to start growing them.

If your tank have hiding places, apisto always hide one, no syiok.

Prefer schooling fishes that are not so shy, at least you can see them swimming around rather than always look for them.

thanks for the input...

i've got apistos.. and getting more this week....
the funny thing is my rasbora (harlequin) dont school...
i have them in a spare tank...

only after a meal, they will swim round and round in schools....
other than that, they are everywhere....
is it because of my water flow?

i have a pvc outlet who pumps about 4000 l/hr

GG,

In the case of valis, I don't think you should trim them now, it certainly won't speed up their growth unlike hairgrass. Similarly, I don't think you should trim tennelus because last time when I had a lawn, don't remember trimming them to speed their growth. I only trim them to slow down growth for valis and tennelus.

Now if you are talking about hairgrass, then it's a diff story.

If you cut valis leaves into half, some have split ends and slowly melt off, only do this when your valis is like 4 feet long like mine. Hahhaa...

Btw, valis is a short term plant because it create runners very fast that you need to check on them to prevent them crawling and growing everywhere. Make sure you cut the runners as soon as you see them in unwanted places.
