Nasfish,
Kind of back tracking...on the pictures you posted up. I prefer your PICTURE 4, the one with a open space where it kind of look like a open field. I think you didnt have fishes yet...or maybe cant see them. It will be nice they swim around the open around. It seems as though you have gone through fair bit of transformation on your planted tank.. Kevin PJ |

Thank you for looking.
So maybe I should call hypersushi2 as hypersushi2!, I am getting confused too. Anyway, some update, added a medium sized branchy driftwood, removed the black background,...perhaps too early for an update...but.. ![]() But I am planning to do much simpler layout with less plant types, 6-7 type of plants. Difficult to describe it but here is the rough plan...roughly edited using Microsoft Paint.. ![]() What do you guys think? Appreciate it. Regards Last edited by nasfish : 19-02-2007 at 05:43 AM. Reason: Add some description to the current tank update... |

Nasir, just MO, if there is one more type of plant in the background it would help create a bit of depth. Or maybe the trimming will help. Currently, I feel there's not enough depth or undulation. My 2 cents. heheh

Thank you Steven, really appreciate it.
Can't update/reply sooner, something is wrong with this forum, just like 'nyawa-nyawa ikan', near to death..hahahha.. Anyway, maybe you are right, all Rotala sp. green background, will not able to create depth..perhaps combination with some taller grassy plants like Vallis should do it..I am not sure..have to try it first..thanks Regards |

Hi,
Thank you for looking. Really appreciated all comments/critiques etc.. Update I came back from out of city job, a few days before Chinese New Year, only to find some BBA came visit this tank!..lol..in the hurry to go out of the city, I didn't realize that my CO2 tank is empty!..sysshh..unable to come back for at least 3 days. On the same weekend, Ruslan and Burt came visit..lol..this is always happened to me...when friends comes visit..there is always something wrong with this tank..hahhaha. Anyway, not to panic though, the BBA just in the early stage, not too rampant . Soooo what I did was : 1. 'Big' trim. Remove almost all affected leaves, trim the mosses, throw away some of the plants i.e Ludwigia etc. 2. Plant more Glosso at the foreground, some Blyxa japonica at the base of newly added driftwood. 3. Suck any debris, mulm etc. 3. Do 50% WC. 4. Do a Flourish Excel spot treatment. 5. Add 8 Yamato shrimps (I wish I bought more) and a young SAE. 6. Dose half than usual. 7. CO2 as usual, 4-5 bps Now ![]() Side View, to show the plants at te back, some trimmed, some newly planted. ![]() BBA turning red then white after a few days.. ![]() Yamato shrimps eagerly eating the 'soften' BBA ![]() ..continued.. |

Badly trimmed crypts, hope it will bounce back
![]() Not too worry though, already some new leaves emerging.. ![]() Despite what had happened to this tank, Garra Flavatra remains oblivious, saying : 'BBA??..it got nothing to do with me!...I just like brown algae!' ![]() Regards |
