Hi,

Yeah, just love those ADA bottles..1 squirt = 1 ml, easy, actually tested it, just to confirm 10 squirt = 10ml.

Anyway, bought this Epsom Salts from Guardian Pharmacy.

Mg solution made by mixing 170 grams Epsom Salts into 500ml water.
Dose 4 ml into my 220 liters tank to add 0.56ppm Mg daily.
Now if only I have some sort of weight scale to get the precise amount of 170 grams!...

Probably not using it until seeing some curling of my plants esp. the hygro.

Best Regards

Thanks

K from both dose is approx 7.2 ppm K.
I would dose 5 ppm NO3 and 1 ppm PO4 daily instead of three times a week. Maybe a double/triple dose after the 50% water change.

Thanks dom,

I am actually trying to follow the EI dosing. Targeting 10ppm NO3, 1-2ppm PO4 & 10ppm K per dosage. Dosing 3 times a week. Dosing micros on the other days.

Anyway here is a quick snap of the tank after weekend trimming and replanting. Add some lobelia cardinalis 'small form' bought from 88Marine, Pandan Indah for RM3 per bundle (3-4 small stems). The lobelia cardinalis is for the midground.

Some close-up. L. Aromatica started to get some colours. Hope my P. Stellata does not get stunted and branches out this time.

Best Regards.

Hi callisto168,

It has been two weeks since I switched to dry chemical ferts. Dosing 10 ppm NO3, 2 ppm PO4 3 and 10 ppm K times a week, Brighty Step 2 on the other day for micros. Too early to say, but everything seems ok, growing. I am not sure, but I get the feeling that the plants looks healthier, bushier, greener, don't know how to describe. Anyway here some update pictures.

The lobelia cardinalis 'small form' is finally growing with new emersed bright green leaf. The growth rate almost as slow as the crypt, IMO. Maybe with the new emersed form, the growth rate will be faster.

Blyxa japonica turning to somewhat yellow orange under bright light. Prefer the greener version. Tonina fluviatilis is among the fastest growing plant in this tank.

The L. Aromatica producing a lot of sideshoots, making it bushier (keep cutting it, so can concerntrate on bigger stem), but the colour is just yellow to orange, suppose to be with some red. I am thinking this got to do with high NO3 dosing (somewhere between 20-30ppm at anytime).

And yeah, my P. Stellata got stunted and branches out again as it growing up near the surface. Almost give up on this plant. Currently cutting the branches, remove the bottom part, and replanted the cutting.

Best Regards
PS : callisto168, would love to see your setup too..
