Default Lights setup

Ari, how come you didn't use any reflectors with your lighting? Any special reasons?

ai yo..i said must cover with a layer of gravel mah. dont let it explore inside the water. else, thread and BBA will grow faster than yr plants.

so far i tried no problem with my 2ft. only when i pulling out the glosso...some of them came out...scared like hell. changed 80% of water for 2 times within 3 days. and now...BGA growing. damn damn...

btw, try at yr own risk ah.

haha sure.. always experiment at own risk hm how bout use a net over the fert first before gravel? like what they always do in new setup? maybe can help to prevent too much of them coming out.

can try that. but i can tell you...the plants' root will still go down to the fert. and the fert will turn into powder after sometime. once you pulling it out. fert will still come out. So, result is the same with or without the net.

normally we pull it out a bit...saw part of the root n cut it off. The remain roots will melt n become the food for other plants. But this apply to mature tank which with micro-organism and bacteria grown. If not, the root melt and will kill all the bacteria. then that area will turn into black color..(died bacteria.) Any plants you planting it there..sure will died coz of root melting.
