3 goals in 10 minutes...how do u like that unless u are backing the oppsite team ..hehehe, and sets me in the right mood to finally get moving and get things done on my new setup..

the bottom layer of my setup is made up of...clay,peat,javanese soil, river pebble and holland sand..mixed through out before applying about 2 inches thick

next comes the labis sand...the same type that Dom stole from the contractors...hell they gotta be good to be stolen in the first place right.

here is the chicken and goat shit fert ...i put in 3 packs of 400g...fine grade + small pellets. the packing says...N2 P5 K3. since this setup is for red plants ...i want to keep the N on the low side.....if it really holds any truth at rm3.50 per pack.

to cover up the shits...i used JBL 4.7 kg basic long term fert. ...for no particular reason...except they are the cheapest one around. tot of trying long term ferts from RED SEA...but rm122 is abit steep for me ...despite Spain scoring 3 times in 10 minutes...might as well spend the money on much needed wirings and timers

to top up the basic long term fert i use red soil...cant recall what they are call ...sort of literite. got them from the sawaah padi along the lumut road leading to ipoh....sort of sticky though

to finish things up come the top layer of inch thich holland sand. the final application of labis sand would be done after planting.
, the tank would be filtered for a couple of days to set the bacteria working. i use a mixuture of several type of bacteria...some spare here, some spare there, mixed them all up ...ok jalan

while waiting for the tank to run tru ...i went back to making more light casing.
this one here consist of AI.M 30watts x2. in the middle is a Ai.M T4 blue light.
T4 lights are more powerfull in lumen than Flo tubes...they are bright and powerfull.tooooooo bad their lumen and K are not written on the product.
the short coming of all T4 tubes is they have very short life span ...if u are lucky they would last roughly about a year...not lucky 2 to 3 months ...can buang liao

Hi Ari. This is turning out to be another very interesting read.
I have a few questions though. At least I'm not calling you on your handphone to bug you heh heh.

1. Why ah, after you put the bottom layer, you add lapis sand? You mixed holland sand in the bottom layer also - is it so that the mixture will not compact?
2. You not scared meh mixing ayam and kambing ferts and then add base fert some more? Do you plan to have all the nutrients come from the substrate only?
3. What is the purpose of adding so many layers of soil, sand and fert?

Terima kasut.
