Ari-L grandulosa needs very high light for it to turn red.
Another point is From North America roadside ditches. Not picky with nutrients but needs regular trace nutrient dosing because of the high light requirements or it will die off.

yar brader ...high light...and thats what i have. the thing is in most cases the stems rot before they could turn submerge. if rot is avoided then they will grow nicely ... like most roadside ditch plant, they grow nicely in ditches, but the same couldnt be said when planted in home aquarium...infact L glandulosa looks like garden plant in emerge form. on yar one more thing ...this plant has very little ressitance against algae. Btw stan...if u hav the time . trying going to sham alam forest reserve, theres 3 ponds there, 1 is open for public fishing, the other 2 is well hidden deep inside the reserve. here in these 2 ponds are some sort of limnophila aromatica, maybe cuba...but they are growing wild. the whole pond looks red from above.....well, i like to steal some of them...hehehe
