yar..from may to august i have plenty of time coz these are the quite months for seafood constructions. something to do with chinese calender, ghost festival and all that rubbish. after that...very very busy, especially this year as i try to establish my company in jakarta and and get some indonesian "Taichiyea" to invest in production....only then can i challege the big boys in Hongkong and China. malaysia is pasar malam la...the price simply throw here and there....still using A4 paper and pencil to draw plans..hahaha...dont think they know what blueprints are actually. follow me around? sure why not...but the only thing you will learn is ...chasing girls...thats my main hobby any kangtau i know here is already known to everyone...so bo kangtau lah. what you can do is travel overseas...hongkong, taiwan or guangzhou, these are the places i know have plenty of snails...take it as a holiday. no worries about transporting the snails back...just put them in mineral water bottle ..dry. customs at the airport is the Boleh kind.....ada duit semua boleh. of course water will vaporate, and for salt water tank, you use arylic sheets to cover the top, to keep salt away from the lights. about thing rusting and salt getting into fresh water tanks will depends on you....do you put your hands in salt water then put it your fresh water tank?..of course no rite. so its all up to good managment on your part. the lfs who told you this belongs to sekolah lama, the bull headed people who refuse to change according to time, its 2007 now...everything is about good managment and nothing is impossible. hobby is hobby...when you mix hobby with business , then you surely will fail. FS is for lazy buggers, who could sit 14 hours in his shop, i for sure cannot sit that long, thats why im never in my shop. if you are happy with rm3 to 4,000 per month...then go ahead open a FS. this is certainly not enough for me. besides...nowdays suppliers are selling directly to consumers, so how on earth are FS going to compete and cari makan when suppliers potong all the jalan. one example is AI..i use to take about rm15,000 worth of marine fishes from them per month..after they start selling to public...i boycott them. same goes for any suppliers who i know sells to public. why should i buy from them if they are trying to squeeze my balls. i even threaten a supplier if he sells to public , then i bring in a container worth of equipments from china and flood the market at cost price.....well, its hard to make a living running a FS. if it wasnt for my seafood construction company to cover most of the expensense, my fs would have close door long time ago. its not worth the trouble for rm3-4000 per month. the only reason why suppliers have yet to spit in my face is bcos they knew i have plenty of kangtau and jalan, well supported by top people, the reputation and a fat cheque book....or else i would been death along time ago. thats how it is to run a fs in malaysia...its hantu pukul hantu .....so do you really want to open a fs. in bangkok or jakarta...the have unions to control price for fs, thats why they could survive. malaysia have unions too, but sleeping type of unions. cc joe just open a fs..you go ask him lar good or not..hehehehe

So, got any advice? Like how many salt, live rock, sand and etc? I try to keep the cost low and DIY stuff, if possible. |

no advice for you on marine brader...this is a planted tank section and i have not much experience. instead of learning thru forums...go look for danny, he champion lar, bodek abit then he teach you all lar. PENANG...is the island of kiamsiap lar...they are only famous for ice box seafood lar.the only good and big live seafood restaurant is the one in gurney drive,..even at this place the aquarium looks like they could collaspe at any moment and yet the owner dont want to repair...but then which contractor will do business with a 'hutang panjang kaki". Penang bosses are not the type who would invest on a rm70,000 aquarium system. i have already expanded into penang brader...you need to go to the top hotels to see it. in penang i rather deal with hotels as their directors are usually orang puteh, they know quality when they see one. of course they cannot have penang style aquariums in their hotels...malu lar. my latest one is at Bukit Jambul...the one that sits right on top of the hill...guess you know which one....the whole system is made out of cast polycarbon and indian furnace glass ...you wouldnt want to know the price, but then Dato Lim( the owner) has plenty

2nd week.....for the stellata, this is the "make or break" week. they have all started to turn submerge and now comes the hard part...do they develop damage heads or not? stellata with a damage head will not grow fat and tall, instead they will develop multipile new shoots, they look quite nice with their bushy new shoots, but this is not the standard i wanted...they must have a stem mininum 0.3inch in diameter, thats the size of one's index finger and the leaves must be in full growth from top to bottom. alot of things could go wrong with the stellata. damage heads, botak bottom, short curly leaves, man ,they could even die overnight after growing well for a few weeks. they are not term diffcult and demanding for nothing. lighting plays an important part...too little they will refuse to grow well, too much the leaves will turn curly. how much is too much..i have no idea really, i just relie on instinct as i have been planting stellata many times over, and each time they will provide a different challege. out of 44 stems i planted this time round, only 2 develop damage heads as for now...a good turn over actually, but then its too early to judge until the 3rd week, past this, the they should be okay, matured stellata seldom develop damage heads if given the proper care. i usually would throw away those with damaged heads ..no point keeping them as they will not be able to catch up while the rest grows taller around them.
![]() the gladulosa is abit slow in turning, but at least the stems are intact and not rotting, i guess they should be okay as i notice side roots forming. i was tempted to add in KR26, a growth hormone i got from thailand, but guess i wait as i have not add in any liquid or solid fertilizers pending the 14day curfew after rescape..just my method to avoid brown algae ![]() this lot is growing too fast for my liking...i have trimmed on sunday and this photo is on thursday night. anyway i will be replacing they with something else, if i could find anything good. ![]() ah my favourite...Laetacara curviceps, got them from 4mata in pudu pasar at rm1.50 each, haha, this 4mata is a joker, sometimes he remembers me as a fs owner, sometimes he doesnt know who the hell i am...guess it all depends on how many "goyang kepala" pills he had the night before. anyway, L.curviceps has always been my favourite since i was a kid, they have never given me any problems in a planted tank, along with the kribs, they are they only cichilds i trust with my plants...well, well, this trio is different ...they went straight for the stellatas, i was kinda shock to see this happen, normally they are quite well behave, but not this bunch, they are bend on destruction...guess 4mata has been sharing his pills with the fishes too. ...THE DECEPTICONS MUST BE STOPPED....so out came the mineral water bottle with blood worm trap...cichlids will always find their way in this bottle but never the way out...funny really . ![]()

waah..long time havent come here chor luan. busy la...just finish moving to jakarta. only now got time to get back to planting.
the first thing about jakarta is ..its very diffcult to find good lighting, cant seems to find any PLL tubes, the best i could find is Dymax starlite T5s, even this is not really suitable as i yet to change the standard tubes to yellow and pink...so at the mean time, no chance of planting red species plants....well, at the time being im more interested in crypts, ferns and moses.... i cant afford to buy ferns and moses in malaysia with the kind of robbery prices they are charging, no such story in indonesia...here you could find wild ferns and mosese at dirt cheap price...and crypts...ah....truly bagus..pelia?...banyak la..mini and large. next i post photos....on wild collected crypts and pelias
