I thought this is how those people using ADA soil (Power sand and amazonia) setup their tank. The bottom will be Powersand and the top layer will be Amazonia. Correct me if I am wrong. That's the reason why I thought this applicable for Sera as well. After listen to Stan and Ari comment then I knew that Sera is different from ADA soil (i.e. Amazonia). Thanks anyway. |

Ai piee ,AI hor ....uuu bo?? actually all base ferts are good...u want the best ma ADA la...but then u want Piee woh ...mana cari murah punya ADA??? good means ...boleh pakai, if tak boleh pakai...the company also shy to produce that fert la....after kena Sing ler. why some are expensive some are cheap?...depends on demand ma. between Ocean Free, Sera and JBL.... Sera is the most expensive..coz this brand is Orang Lama...semua orang tau punya...so it become expensive. Ocean Free...is San Chai...the supplier tot..if they lower the price ...consumers will think..."that cheap ah...yung tuck mo ah?" so they up the price to be among the big brothers JBL is the hard luck bastard son....this is a expensive product, just look at marine product...wow.but the plant section JBL is a loser..not because its no good..but the suppliers didnt bother to push this product thinking its reputation alone is enough to get people to buy...but they forgot this is Malaysia...tara push tak boleh jual. so they finally lower the price...and backfired....Discount ...means Tak Laku in Malaysia. Hexa...this product ah ...aiyo , susah la..the packing is really awful....looks more like packing on chinese medicine.but this a Taiwan product and Taiwanese sure knows a thing or two about ferts...that i asure u. OK..the final conclusion...all the ferts brand above are the same...dont be surprise if they are actually the same product sold under different name. so its wise to get the cheapest. and that means.....go for JBL or Hexa.

Powersand is base layer but is not a base fert. Let me explain why. [che wah...like salesman! A recently known fact to me as well. ] Powersand is pumice coated[a secret recipe] with some food for essential planted tank microorganisms to create a healthy underground for roots of plants where these microorganisms[the famous 100-bacter 100!] continually breakdown wastes produced in aquarium. So in Aquasoil+Powersand tanks you will rarely see or smell BGA. stick your finger in mature ADA standard tank[As+Ps+all the other ingredients] and compared with normal sand+base fert tank. The longer time pass, the worse the sand tanks will smell but no smell from ADA tank. Note: Aquasoil CONTAINS the stuff the plants use! It's soil in granule form that can exist on the top layer not like those sand+base fert tanks where the soil has to be the base fert because it will fly around in an aquarium. Regards Stan
