Hmm pontian too bad. OK, I posted this question to Ari, maybe you can give me your answer also... if given a choice, you prefer to use FLs or PLLs for a 3 x 2 x 1.5 ft tank? Currently have in my collection 3 x 36W PLLs only one being used.

2ft high? If yes, i prefer PLLs. If 1.5ft high, then FLs will do. But then if you keeping those stem plants, PLLs preferred.

but PLL usually in the range of 6000-6500K oh.. need any other thing to complement it? maybe like ari say.. a 18000K FL?

Rich people can get ADA la.. 100+ for a PLL.. so x4 = 400+ for a 2.5ft tank haha

But before you answer, I have a feeling you'd go for FLs since you always seem to use such a terror range of Ks. Correct or not?
2 feet height?...betuk ah ..jangan tipu tau!..ok go for PLL.... at least 2 twins, plus two low+higher range FLos..

Both Flos and Pll on their own is not good enough.

I prefer Flos on tanks on low heights like 1.5feet...other wise i would go for Pll.
22 inches of water...(minus 2 inches dry,) would be very hard for FLOs to penetrate with good result

where can we find 8000K PLL? except ADA one la. i got a china brand one, say 8000K but dont know how true it is.

how bout i get 2 PLL 6500K, plus your recommendation of 2800K and 18000K? a mix and match..

i use to have the china PLL 8000K x 2 and philips 6500K x 2 (total of 108W). Plants doing good (though got bit algae - common rite hehe). then hand itchy rescape and change light also.. mana tau light not suitable. bad experiment.

dont mind pay a bit more.. but not the ADA range la.. ADA 30W x 4 = 300 bucks = many meal at shogun buffet ahaha
8000 and 6800K is not much different la...the shade is so slight , we wont even notice it. since u have the china made 8000k and philips 6500k...then no need to buy new one la.
just get a 18000k 20 w ..is more than enough for 13inch of water...hello brader minus 2 inch of dry space ok.

ADA is expensive for a reason ...we all know what that is.

HC does well in medium+ light. high light doesn't hurt unless you get hit by algae.

regards
