Even if you sell at RM1 per leaf is already under cutting LFS. I suggest you approach LFS and trade with them for products.

The best is those who said you are undercutting the LFS take all the leaves off your hand and they can sell to the LFS.

It's getting out of hand already, how else are we going to sell our extra plants? Imagine calling up all the LFS and go peddling with the plants. Become sayur man already.

Some of us who are selling extra plants does not like going to the LFS and sometimes the only we want to trade is for cash. This is only to substantiate our hobby. Else money keep going out and no coming in, it's not like it's enough to fund the hobby also, it's just to help abit.

I'm not saying that he shouldn't sell to hobbyist, did I? Stan and I are merely saying that he should not sell too cheap. There is a difference between suggestion and instruction.

I'm cool no worries even though my post may sound otherwise. It's just that we need to strike a balance, if LFS wants it, I will even sell cheaper to them for them to earn but there needs to be a balance lah. Last time I ask Ah Yee whether want the bolbitis, he said don't want so I never asked him already. I mean I don't want to be thick faced go and ask ppl u want my sayur or not. Then the questions of cheap or too cheap is a relative, some lfs may sell cheaper than others too, so it's hard for us to fix a benchmark price. Usually, for my case, I will agak agak based on the price I used to know (don't survey anymore) and then based on market demand I will decide the price. Can't expect to sell something expensive when the market is slow right?

The question, how do u expect us to go asking LFS if they want? HanYang maybe can lah, but the the ones I know very susah.

Isaac, NA and Han Yang have better source for aquatic plants most of the time. Unless yours are very exotic plants. I believe YT, Fish Paradise and Atlantic Safari do accept the plants from hobbyst. But try not to sell them the emersed plants. This is due to lot of newbies don't know how to keep the emersed plants and turning them into submersed. End up, plants died and lfs blamed by the customers said they selling lousy plants or dying plants.

I do give, exchange or sell my plants to YT, Fish Paradise and Atlantic Safari most of the time. Don't expecting them will buy in high price. Most of the time i just give away. Didn't ask for money. And they will give you discount when you want something from them.

Can you imagine YT cut all of his Rotala green and MM from his display tank and sell to me cheap? I believe they will remember you once you offering them some good stuff. Karma is there all the time.

I also give the LFSes plants. I chose not to reveal the names of the Lfs so as to protect their interest. Sometimes, I have extra, I'll give like mosses and bolbitis. Last time gave them emersed one they don't want so end up now I sell myself.

I give people but I don't like to announce it if not why you think i can get good prices from LFSes. Anyway, this is a never ending debate, some of you thought we never offer LFS but actually we did and continuously do so. At the same time, I also sell to members the emersed ones and things LFS may not want to carry because it could be expensive for them to sell.

Don't do much LFS hopping nowadays, probably going through a cycle. Never been to atlantic or fish paradise. Last time every new shop also I will be there to see what they have, now like no mood to drive there and check.

For Fish Paradise, you can discuss with the owner Adrian. He is a nice guy to talk to. Some of the plants he is selling are emersed. I believe he don't mind to get from you. Because this will save his time to order from others.

About Atlantic Safari, 2 young bosses now really good in aquatic plants. You can pass to me and I will pass to them. For the $$$ wise, you can deal with them thru the phone first. (will give you their number once you get the plants to me.)

Adrian, yeah I think I know him from WTF when he used to hang around there. Nice bloke as I remember. Ok, will go over and talk to him one day.

Atlantic a bit far for me lah. I think I am small time gardener only, cannot supply to so many shops.

Will attempt to ask them first, at least make some calls.

under or over cutting LFS depends on which LFS you go to .. and its all about where you source your plants...

there is semi-planted LFS around... and they sell it cheaper than those major ones like NA, East aqua or 88 petsmart..

for me, RM1 per narrow leaf fern is acceptable ...

you see it as im undercutting LFS... maybe to those like NA,88,east Aqua,etc.. Yes, i agree

but for other not-so-famous-LFS , im selling it higher than what they are selling... so, what can you say about this???

trading plants with LFS might be a good idea... but i dont think selling to them is..

and normally, this procedure is done if you are a frequent visitor to a specific LFS.. or it is your friends LFS..... but going around and ask if they want it or not, is a waste of time in my opinion... if not time, petrol at least...

and i agree with isaac, sometimes, ppl sell their stuff just to get money... not everyone willing to trade...

this is a discussion based of my opinion... i will accept any comments and critiques without being offended... as my main aim is to create a win win situation... and frankly speaking, i don't look that much into money matters.. but if i give my ferns to ppl for free... i'll be creating a worst scenario.. might be good for hobbbyist, but not for LFS/Suppliers...

lastly, im sorry if i offended anyone .... that is not my intention...
