Nas, used to see tons of these gradient backgrounds. Used to buy them at art supply shops like Venus Art, Nanyang (in Jalan Petaling). I know Nanyang is still around. And if you can get hold of an airbrush (for illustrations and not spray painting cars heheh) you can make your own gradient board.

Thank you Kevin & Steven for the tips. One thing though, those gradient background posters (from either the print shop or the art shop) usually not with the sticky part, which normally found on the aquarium background poster. Anyway, using double sided tape should be fine, I guess..hehehe..thanks

If the background is some sort of card (normally is), then better to use cellophane tape and tape it at the sides of the tank. Double-sided tape can be seen as a patch. HTH.

Thank you Steven.
Have been browsing ADA catalog, Aqua Screen especially, background poster, available in non-translucent normal type and translucent clear type, clear blue...just wondering how much its cost...anyone seen it before? At the bottom of this Aqua Screen descriptions..an interesting idea says "Lighting from the back also produces an interesting atmosphere."..instead of poster, just put some light from behind during photo shooting... Don't know if this is related - have asked our local ADA guys before and they have said any ADA product can be brought it. Just that if it's not popular or cannot generate enough sales, then chances are, you won't see it in the market. Basic business sense I guess.
Have also read in APC this dude who put a white cardboard behind his tank leaning at the top and with a light source at the bottom. Creates a gradient. He changes the light colour to suit his needs. Only thing is, the gradient direction wont change. Hope I make sense LOL

Hmm... never liked the blackwater look. The brown background just doesn't do it for me. Nasir, I'm sure you've seen Amano and how he photograped some of his pictures. He has some sort of scroll held together by a tripod (similar to those used for power point presentations), then he put a light in front of the scroll but behind the aquarium. That way, you can have a grey background with some slight hint of gradient colours. Looks excellent IMHO.
