Hi! Just did some aquascaping and add on the 'New' Japanese soil for testing, pretty low Ph of the soil. My Aqua tank nothing much difference from last time, added some Anubias barteri, Pope moss(Fissidens) and still couldn't get some wanted plants to put in.
Have a look! If you have any comments, please feel free to reply. Thanks.

Just share my experience with all. As mentioned before, bought a bag of Japaneses soil (as shown in the picture), after a day to let the water stabilize, checked the PH drop to 6.0, PO4 drop till 0.3mg/l, & KH at 2 degree. And, some plants & shrimps shows more active now. Well, not a bad choice of this soil instead of ADA's soil..........

Good to see another round of improvements! BTW, how much is that soil and how many kg do they sell these for? Can show close-up pic of the soil? And is there any nutrients descriptions at the back of the packaging?

I bought it more cheaper (market price around RM70~75), it comes in 10L per bag (approx. 9.5kg). No detail of Nutients wrote at the back, but I have did a direct translation from Japanese to English from a website (as shown below)
But some of the words missing or wrong grammar, anyway hope that you can understand.

(English version)
Water quality adjustment substrate
-'Control Soil' weak acidity, offers the environment which is optimum to raising the organism which likes the soft water. They are the multi nutrients soils which were made from natural soil.
-As pH is maintained at weak acidity, the component of hardness is lowered. The weak acidic soft water environment which many tropical fresh water fishes like is made.
-Inside the tank is too slow propagation is promoted, in regard to standing of the tank is hastened. Base filter - you can use. When (the water plant is not planted only)
-Because the grain is setting, to deteriorate you can use difficult in the long term.
-Of course you can use weak acidic soft water environment for all organisms which such as fish and shrimp like in the water plant.
-With the special granular structure where the abundant water of oxygen spreads, it is optimum to also the layout which grows thick the water plant to the root of the water plant.
-アク and the other impurities which come out of the flowing water it adsorbs powerfully, maintains high transparency.

Hi Jason,

Congrats, the tank is coming along nicely, plants look healthy.

The soil looks pretty good as well and well priced.

Hi, all! Nearly a month from my last picture post up, now I have another picture to share. Well, Everything goes okies, just a small problem that I am started to worry about, the Black Hair Algae getting more & more even remove it by my finger nails (pluck it one by one).... ....the best way to remove BHA, instead of cut off the leaves. And now the background plants covered the top surface that lights couldn't get through more, so need to add in more Wattage of light soon. If you have any comments, please feel free to give a feed back. Thank you.

Hi Jason. You must be proud of your tank. A with plants reaching water's surface, I'd double check to see if your current lighting is enough. IME, when my light was too strong and caused algae on the bottom of the tank, I got some plants to provide some shade. Worked well... except, algae bloomed on the plants lining the surface. Of course you can still try. Maybe you have a greener finger than me. LOL
