Okay, let me start of with KW and CTY in Penang.

KW Report card
1. Store set up(lighting, cleanliness etc)(1 messy, 5 good): 2-floor always wet, fish tank not clean.
2. Staff friendliness(1 :not friendly, 5 very friendly): 3-beside the female staffs, the male staff is very lansi, especially the one who pack your fish.
3. Fish variety(1:minimum choice, 5:wide choice):3-ok compare to small LFS, but less variety compare to KW.
4. Plant variety(1:minimum choice, 5:wide choice): 2-not much choices.
5. Accessory variety(1:minimum choice, 5:wide choice):4-kudos to the new wing of the store.
6. Price(1:expensive, 5:good):3-fair price but not necessary cheapest
7. Other comment:The fish section of the store need to be renovated. Need to expand the marine fish and plant variety. Staffs need to be more friendly.
8. Overall:3-oklah. Meet expectation.

CTY Report card
1. Store set up(lighting, cleanliness etc)(1 messy, 5 good):5-top class in Penang. Whatelse can we expect.
2. Staff friendliness(1 :not friendly, 5 very friendly):3-oklah
3. Fish variety(1:minimum choice, 5:wide choice):4-provide most choice in Penang, but seems the marine fish section need to be expanded.
4. Plant variety(1:minimum choice, 5:wide choice):4-provide most choice in Penang.
5. Accessory variety(1:minimum choice, 5:wide choice):5-you can get most of the accessory here, but expect to pay a higher price.
6. Price(1:expensive, 5:good): 2-higher than most LFS
7. Other comment:The store is comfort(aircord). You can take your time to shop around for fish and accessory(you can scop your fish as you like). The plant for sale need to be replanished when fiinish(as most of the time they will take out the new plant for sale on Thursday but you will see close to empty tank on Monday or Tuesday). Hope they could lower the price tag(although the have discount of 10% most of the time).
8. Overall:4-slightly above expectation, except the price...

I m just new at this, so cannot comment much. But I can help in other way.

1. CTY at Town opposite Telekom
2. KW at Ayer Itam opposite Chung Ling High school
3. Jit Sheng at Farlim opposite Sunshine Farlim
4. Fish Shop at Prangin Mall

Marine Water
1. Goey at Bayan Lepas opposite BJ Complex
2. ?? at Ayer Itam opposite MGS

This week I will go to visit as much as LFS in Penang island. From then I will look into their available stock and then give comment. Later I will also draw out map location.

Please don't get me wrong. This so called 'report card' is just helping the LFS to identify area of improvement and doesn't meant to create any problem to them. At the same time, visitor can set their expectation when visiting the LFS(set 3 stars expectation when you visit a 3 stars LFS, 4stars expectation to 4 starts LFS etc).

As a aquarium hobbist, of couse we want the best from LFS. For this, we need a kind of feedback channel so that they know their strong point and weak point. With that, all will benefit at the end:hobbist get the best choice/quality/service, and LFS get more business/earn more $ and go globally.... Wah....what a dream...

Today I pass Jln Dato Keramat and found out that the fish shop have hang the sign board up. I think they should be on business soon. Well, I heard they going to focus on arowana fish. Maybe we could do some TT over there....market survey.

Here is what I have found out after visiting some lfs in Penang island.

Goey Enterprise Aquarium
- Located at Bayan Lepas, just opposite main road of BJ complex, they use double story terrace house as their shop
- Sell mostly on marine fish and stuff
- found out got alot of marine live, but the stock are not consistant
- The son is ok, but the aunty is bit "lansi" (arrogant)
- If you knew them well, they could give alot of good info bout marine tank
- Well, like normal lfs, no aircon and sometime during cleaning, the ground get wet.

Jit Sheng Aquarium
- Located at Ayer Itam, beside Sunshine Farlim, you need to use the opposide road of Shell station at the Sunshine Farlim. Located at bottom of flat
- Mostly fresh water fish and plant
- Got shrimp (mostly Cherry red and CRS), plant and fish
- Last time I went there, they were promoting ADA, now they promote other stuff
- First time I went there, meet with the daughter, very friendly and share alot of usefull info bout planting
- No aircon, seldom see them cleaning tank, maybe went closing shop time, so the floor quite dry

Toby Pet
- Located at Ayer Itam, opposite Masjid Negeri, Mosque, same road as Esso station. Its double storey terrace.
- Got alot of exotic bird, cat & dog, reptile (snake, scorpion, lizard, spider). One time I saw hermit crab also, try to get it another time, all sold out.
- Place is bit dirty and smelly. Alot of ppl went there for the bird, no aircon, so would not stay there for long
- No fish or plant
