I read somewhere it is important to introduce CO2 so that plants can grow well. I only have a small 6G tank where I keep some neon tetras but i like to put a forest inside.

I tried to put in plants but they died quite soon even with light on, now I think is this lack of CO2.

How do i introduce CO2?

beside CO2, lot of plants need light to survive...
some of the plants they do need min CO2 to survive. and they can get the CO2 from water n fishes...

something like Java Fern, Jave moss...etc. But with proper CO2 and lighting..they will grow faster n nicer.

Why spend RM35 for yeast and a plastic diffuser ???

Goto any store to buy baking yeast for a few bucks.... and sugar and water... those are much cheaper...

Just make your own... a 2L soft drink bottle, some tubes and a CO2 reactor + a power head to pump out the water + CO2...

Check this URL for a detail DIY CO2 system :

yeap, i totally agreee with stan. Unless u have a unlimited supply of $$$$$, u just have spend a lil bit of ur time n effort, n u'll save rm 35 - 50. The Nutrafin co2 set is just like any other diy co2 system, the whole system would probably cost u less then 5 bucks if u DIY.

the CO2 cylinder or the Nutrafin one is for those who lazy...

i bot a pack of yeast..cost RM7.9. Can be use for a year or two. Sugar Rm1.2 per KG in Carrefour or Giant. Soda powder 500gm for RM1-2...
I was using DIY CO2 for a year. renew the yeast...etc for every 8-10 days for my 5L bottle. But now, getting lazy. bot a 5L CO2 cylinder...

I agree with you guys..I bought that lame Nutrafin system for RM55
long ago...use it for few months than dump it aside because even my soda
bottle do better then the canister..The diffuser is totally inefficient at all...
With Nutrafin system I get around 9ppm 3bb/sec. Later switched to my DIY reactor, 15ppm at 1bb per 15 sec ......nuff said.. Nutrafin sucks!!!
