yeah sure, i'll post some pics soon, maybe in few days time. i just planted the tank couple of days ago n still need some fine tuning here n there. i'll post some pics together with the tank setup. how bout u? have u planted ur tank? if u go to atlantis safari take a look at their marine tank at the entrance they have 2 DC fan behind the lighting, they manage to bring down the temp to 26.0. There a type of plant in their display tank, i cant identify what type of plant is that but it cost me rm 16 for one. The leaves of the plant is from broad to a pointed end, the colour is slightly yellowish and green, and a bit reddish on the underside. nice plant i must say.

cheers

One word ...Struggling!!!Doin some minor tweaking with the filteration..
Initally injected C02 at 10bb/sec...reading was only 2ppm (aiyoyo...very bad).. Water temp: 28C.(Fans broke down after 3 days cont. run)

Luckily,after some adjustment yesterday... C02:9ppm at 5bb/sec
Temp: 26+C...and still making improvement!!
Seems like light intensity is also insufficient due to depth of the tank..
Will add another 2-3ft lighting system...ok nuff said!!

Hey...Roadspike or whoever setting up a new tank..please post your progress/pix, okay!!!Thanks

Robby

Just added some black neon tetra, neon tetra, a baby puffer fish and 2 algae eaters (is not a siamese algae eater, but those two i bought is orange or yellowish in colour). i got no idea what's my tank ppm coz im using a DIY co2. By the way, how u test ppm? [/img]

Reading level of CO2 got nothing to do with DIY, is the CO2 that matters!!
I seldom do CO2 reading when the plants are bubbling (CO2 should be around 10ppm above)
There's a relationship between pH,KH and CO2...
Take your pH and KH reading then refer to the chart at the following website:

http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/art_plant_co2chart.htm

Alternatively, you can install a CO2 level indicator, a little capsule
with color indication!!
Btw, what type of reactor/diffuser and how low long has your tank been running..??

not all the plants will burble. like java moss...etc. if u saw yr moss burbling... that's mean the algae growing n create the burbles...

im using the same reactor as u, i saw in ur pocted pics. The green canister with black bio balls inside. Most of the plants are bubbling. I've been running my tank since 2 weeks ago. They are starting to grow new leaves and the roots are taking place already.
